What is the best system set-up to have in a car?

What is the best setup for a car audio system? Do most have 3 seperate pairs of subs, tweeters, and mids?

  • Answer:

if you think of the way that most factory audio systems come - anywhere from 2 to 3 sets (4 to 6 speakers), typically a person will add a sub or two depending on the trunk space they want to give up. In addition, most people usually don't change out their factory speakers, unless the go with an aftermarket deck and/or separate amps. Best = beauty is in the eye (ear) of the beholder. a good component set up front (typically 6" in the lower door & 1" dome tweeter somewhere towards the top of the door) q-logic makes custom kick panels per model of the car so you could have 2 sets of components in the front. Adding an amp for your front speakers, especially if you buy components, is almost necessary as factory or aftermarket decks don't have enough power. in the rear - a set of 6's or 6x9's will do fine. could power them off the deck (depending on watts & how the fader controls work). an amp for them would be optional in my opinion. subs - 1 or 2 in the trunk area & an amp is absolutely necessary.

usually a car has a set of front and rear speakers. for a better sound setup people do this: componet set in front(that gives u a mid and a tweeter), a set of fullrange speakers in back 2way or 3way for the most part, and 1 or 2 subs. that gives u 6 speakers(counting front tweeters separate) and 1 or 2 subs.
