  for me love is when someone matters more to me than me. when i am willing to sacrifice my desires and my needs and maybe even my life for someone else. there are many kinds of love: brotherly love (my sister is most definitely a person i love), romantic love, friendly love (i have a best friend whom i love), a child's love towards his parents... sex is a manifestation of physical attraction. there can be no romantic love without physical attraction. otherwise it's friendly love. also, being in love and loving someone are two different things. you can be in love without loving someone. being in love is the starting phase of romantic love where everything is pink and nice, and everything the other one does is perfect, and so on and so forth. it usually fades away after a while (although it's recommended to be maintained... otherwise there's risk of fading into friendly love...).
