Knowledge Management: Is there a suitable approach or software available for creating a fact base?

• I am rapidly building a collection of information based on what I learn on my job. And of course, this information has a variety of topics it is relevant to. e.g. Fact 1: China is crazy awesome when it comes to infrastructure Tags: china;infrastructure Fact 2: India has appalling living conditions due to a lack of proper infrastructure maintenance Tags: india;infrastructure Fact 3: China and India contribute to almost half the world population Tags: china;india;population So, is there a suitable online/offline software to maintain such a fact base where content can be filtered based on tags and so on? Alternatively, could somebody suggest a suitable approach to maintaining this in Excel for instance?

  Go for Evernote, and go for the Business option if you want extra security.  It's in the cloud and allows organisation by folder, but the best thing is that it allows  full database searching by keywords (it even searches within PDFs and Word docs if you upload them too).
