Computer Career Advise?

What is your advise for someone, who wish to change the career?

• I am a SW engineer for 8 years and stepping into 30 years of age. I am very good at my job and happily doing it since first day. But something happening to me for last 6 months. On every day in and out, some part of me want to move away from this monotonous job and find something else adventurous. I am trying to convince myself that the grass is green on the other side but doesn't always true. Back then when i completed my school, i know i was good at 3 things. Drawing(Inherited from my artist father), Maths(Inherited from my mother) and then Computer(learned it because of craze). I don't remember my reason for choosing computer and neither I don't know what i want now - To develop my drawing skills and pursue a career in animation or something in maths or something else different. I am married and got a beautiful one year old son. So any decision might hit us financially for another 5 years. Worst part, i don't even decided my options. I am sure that every body might have went through this at least once in his/her career. What was your decision back then and what do you recommend/advise?

  Do you want some advice from someone who is definitely who is quite opposite to you, someone who has just started working - just been about 3 months into my first job, so no industrial experience whatsoever. But I think you can start a side project as you do your regular work, if it attracts enough attention, then maybe you can build a start up from there. If you think you are good at 3 things, then there is a possibility you can combine any 2 or even all 3 of those and do something with it. Idea is key. Feel free to ignore this but. :)
