If you mean nursing school as in becoming a R.N you can become a CNA if you have completed two clinical rotations. q. Is it recommended you become a CNA while in college? a. No. If your currently in nursing school, becoming a cna is a great idea because you get experience working with nurses. You get to see what the job is all about. Most nursing students work as cna's while completing nursing school, some people do it prior to starting a nursing program just to see if it is the career for them. q. How many hours a day do CNA's usually work? a. Depending where you work any where from 2,4,6 8, & 12hr shifts.
