Whats the difference btwn a RN,BSN,AND MSN ?

ASN or ADN - a two year degree that allows you to get your RN license BSN - a four year degree that also allows you to get your RN license, but you have more general education courses, and more nursing courses which give you a more well-rounded education. The extra nursing courses you get focus on research, leadership and management, and public health, which grooms you for positions that are in more of an administrative or supervisory capacity. With the BSN you are more likely to get promoted faster or be able to find jobs outside of regular staff nursing. MSN - another two to three years beyond a BSN, and you choose a special focus for your degree; Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nursing Education, Leadership and Administration, etc. If an RN with an BSN works as a staff nurse along side a RN with an ADN, the RN with the BSN will only earn about $1 more per hour. The pay will be better for the BSN only if they get a job outside of staff nursing. MSN will pay the best, as you are the most trained into your specialty.

A BSN is just a degree you get in order to take the test to become an RN. a RN is not a degree it's like a qualification, but you need either an associates degree or bachelors degree to get it (bsn). i dont know about msn. good luck
