Do you need to be certified to get a job as a pharmacy technician in Texas?

I'm 18, live right outside houston and want to apply somewhere without having to be certified. so what kind of places here hire w/out a certificate needed?

Texas is the only state which requires certification upon initial licensing. You have to pass the PTCE exam. You have to have a high school diploma to take that test.
