How do I get the bleeding to stop? (Please answer, I'm in serious pain)?

Apply pressure with an ace bandage and a wash cloth, or anything else you can wrap it with, apply icepack over the wrapped leg and elevate your leg higher than yout heart, elevating will slow the bleeding down a lot faster.

keep it UNCOVERED! air will bind with the blood making it co-ogulate..or however you spell it...and it will dry up and scab...with a cut that big it should take about a hour or so to completely scab...keep ur foot elevated and watch a movie with it uncovered...just keep it clean...if it gets infected you might end up in a hosipital...also before you do this a good idea is to get a bath going...water only and poor lots of salt in there...itll sting a lot but soak in there for 10min or so then dry off and let it dry up and scab....doin this will prob give you about a 80% chance of healing fast+without infection=D good luck and hope u feel better Edit: if its bleeding a lot...like gushing then put pressure but it shouldnt be after 2 days

wrap it up in an old rag and push down HARD and i mean HARD on it and dont let go for bout an hour it should stop if you put enough pressure on it. dont lift it up to look either because if you do youll have to start all over again because the bleeding will start again so be SURE to keep it on there for an hour.

Go to you local drug store and get a styptic or hemostatic pencil. This is a while pencil you wet and roll on the wound, it causes the blood to clot and bleeding to stop.

Just apply pressure like you dont know, and I know you dont want to hear this but make sure to keep it clean. My sister but herself about an inch in a half before and she never told anyone. She needed stitches and you also may need stitches because if a cut is that deep and wont stop bleeding then you may need stitches.

It is possible that the cut is too deep for home treatment and might need stiches. I am an athletic trainer and when I have an athlete who as a deep cut i apply mastisol which is a liquid adhesive and prevents further bleeding while suturing the area. Do not use this as a coagulant or blood clotter for long term use.
