    You need to convert any files you have to ACC files as those are the only music files supported by the DSi at this time. The best way to go about it is to download iTunes and then set your preferences to convert files from an MP3 file to an ACC file. And yes, you do need to put it on an SD card.

First you need to buy an SD card. I recommend 2 GB because you probably won't need more than that much space. Next you need to put the SD card inside your computer.
