  • Answer:

Step #1 - find your nearest dragstrip and go out on test n tune night (usually Wednesday or Thursday night). You can race your car all night long for normally around $15. That's how you get started. You can attend a drag racing school if things get serious. On test n tune nights you can make passes or runs in anything with wheels, even mom's Volvo station wagon. http://iwannagoracing.com/Drag_Racing.html

Well if you dont have a car, why dont you start learning with a drag simulator?, that could help you learn about cars overall, theres a few car performance simulators out there, but almost none of them are free, found this one http://www.nxgtrsim.com it is free and looks good IMHO

Jay gave some good avice. Head to the track in your daily driver and gain some on track experience. From there you may make some contacts with people looking for someone to drive for them. Also look into Frank Hawley's driving school. He offers classes in several cars. There are other schools such as Roy Hill and Doug Foley but from people I have talked with Hawley's is far superior.
