    That type of homeschooling is called unschooling, and it's wonderful! I'm an 18 year old longtime unschooler, and though I've chosen not to go to university, I know TONS of other unschoolers who have gotten into college or university! I definitely second the other poster who said to get your hands on The Teenage Liberation Handbook by Grace Llewellyn. Another book you'd probably really appreciate is College Without High School by Blake Boles, which is specifically aimed at teenage unschoolers, and tells you how to get into college with that type of education. You can also get a lot more info simply by Googling unschooling. Best of luck!

Im not sure about reading your own books and keeping a journal and then getting into a good college but Im using Penn Foster and you can do your high school as fast or as slow as you'd like and at the end they give you your diploma. its just like finishing highschool in school but its easier. and its not as expensive as the rest but im poor and me and my sisters have been doing it.
