you do have some good reasons to want to be homeschooled. however, i think that your mom should decide this. if you wanted to be homeschooled, that would be your mom's responsibility. singing and acting is a longshot. very few people make it, as you probably already know. but you can still pursue your dream. i'm sure that if you do your homework right when you get home from school, you'll have time (like, on the weekends) to sing and act and exercise and do whatever you want. just don't ignore schoolwork- you can sing and act but still have a backup. and yes, people are mean. but that's what school is about... you just kinda suffer through it until people mature.

I don't see how homework will keep you from losing weight... But, I was homeschooled from 3rd grade to graduation, and it's not easy. You have to be self motivated, and it's a LOT of work for your mom. Suddenly the responsibility for your education falls on her, not on the state, and she has to get you lesson books, plan out your studies (don't say "i'll do it" - yeah right), grade your work, etc. There are a billion reasons why she would not want to do it, and I don't think you have a good reason for not wanting to go to school. Kids are mean... learn to deal with it. Don't eat while you do your homework if it's keeping you from losing weight. And work on your singing and acting skills outside of school- I promise you, if you're not getting enough opportunites to develop those skills at school, you certainly won't be getting them when your homeschooled.

Honey, you are very young. I agree with your mother. Part of the jobs that you propose are getting along with all kinds of people in a range of situations and school would be perfect training for this. I would be inclined to say if you can't make it in a school environment that you won't make it in a business one. Schools are very flexible places. If you want to act and sing you are going to need your mothers permission until you are 16 or 18. If you are at school and seriously pursuing acting and singing the school will be more than happy to make arrangements, such as assignment extensions, or ways to make up for missed classes. You can organise it around your needs if you need to. Most singers and actors are not uneducated, many even applied, or did some university. I think that you saying you don't have enough time to loose weight is a cop out. If you are serious, and you have to be serious about acting and singing, then every lunch time run around your school perimeter, that will give you exercise, and pack your own salad for lunch. Get up earlier and walk round the block a few times. People are much meaner in the real world than they are in school. Its part of growing up to learn how to deal with these people, and if you want to get anywhere you have to learn these lessons. How do you suppose you learn how to act in group situations if you have never been in one? You are giving away a chance for you to learn about acting and the world. I think its slack and ultimately destructive to your career. I understand it can be hard, truly I do, I hated high school, and primary school, I just hated school but I can deal with life now and people and without that I wouldn't. Good luck with your singing and acting, but if you are giving up with school this easily I don't think you are going to go very far. You have a goal and you can do it, just don't listen to what you peers say, practice acting and singing, train your body, learn how to associate with people and make them like you. If people like you they will employ you. This is your training ground for the rest of you life.

"Jessi Ray" What are you taking about..."NO ELECTIVES"? All the homeschoolers I know take whatever elective they want....from dual-credits at local colleges to just about anything they want for independent study credits!! And "no friends"? What's with that? Again, the homeschoolers in our community have a lot of friends and a lot more time to spend with them since they aren't stuck with 3 or 4 hours of homework every night. From your previous posts, it sounds like you are homeschooled yourself....it would do you a world of good to take the positive advice that has been given on these forums for making friends and getting involved instead of being negative and feeling sorry for yourself.

Practise. Hard. Actually being at school can open a world of options for you toward the entertainment industry. At school you will find music and drama teachers who are willing and able to help you reach your goals. Don't succumb to people telling you that you don't have the money to learn to sing or act- learning these things is free if you know what to learn from. Never give up a dream without trying.

Well, I would ask you to think this over. When you're home schooled you have no electives and no friends and very little help with your courses. If your mom doesn't really want to do this, she will not be active in helping you get your outlets... which are needed for any home schooled child. Does your school provide music and drama electives? Have you tried those? Because you probably won't be getting them at home unless your parents are really proactive, which they don't sound like they would be.

just ake her to mostly any public school that should do it.
