What are the pros and cons of online home schooling and a regular high school?

    There is no such thing as an "online home school." An online school qualifies as either a public school, if it is funded by a jurisdiction such as your state or province, or a private school, that operates online rather than in a traditional brick and mortar building. Home schooling and online schooling are great options for students that work better with them. However, be reasonable and note that a private school might serve you better academically than an online (or home) school. "I've heard that homeschooling makes you weird." This is hearsay; it is a false stereotype. Many home schooled kids have active and healthy social lives. Online (or home) school per se will not put you at a disadvantage when applying to college; if in doubt, contact the office of undergraduate admissions at the colleges you have your eye on and speak with them. I cannot, however, speak for the academics at this particular online school you're looking at, because you didn't give a name. I myself am home schooled, and I personally find it both enjoyable and beneficial. The flexibility is advantageous, if used properly; be warned that it requires self-motivation to a degree higher than that demanded by a traditional school.

Hi this is my first year in a online homeschool and I am in a love/hate relationship. I love being able to sleep late, stay in pyjamas, and choosing when to do my work. I do miss friends and stuff like that sometimes but it is not like unbearable loneliness. I work better alone. School is easier and you finish fast. I am already done with 2 almost 3 of my classes and the school year isn't even over yet. No, I don't think it will affect your college application.
