How can you find out who the host for your website is?

My friends website has gone down and she needs the host for the site to reset it - problem is, her husband is away and he has the information about who their host is!! Is there any ...show more

Answer:
There's a chance that her host and domain registrar are the same company - but they don't have to be. If she does a http://www.who.is/ query on the domain she can see who registered it and then "guess" that maybe that same company is the host - but as I say this doesn't have to be the case. She'll need credentials to authenticate with of course - does she have any old emails with reference to the domain and hosting? What's the URL? Good luck!
