Yeah I suggest getting a new swim suite, bubbles make you float (no duh).

My answer would be yes it could slow you down. When your swimming with it, see if you can feel your chest dragging, if not, your probably good.

it could be too loose/big... but im not sure. you should experiment a little bit, have your coach time you when your wearing each suit. good luck!
