How is the scenery along I-80 through PA and I-90 through NY?

Can I get in trouble for having a PA drivers license, but NY license plates? ?

  • I just moved to Pennsylvania and traded in my NY drivers license for a PA license so I could get the cheaper PA car insurance. So now I have a PA license and PA insurance, but I ...show more

  • Answer:

Wouldn't chance that, the State cops will get you for that in a second. When someone runs your plate to find out you don't have a New York license, things aren't going to add up right, and your going to end up paying more then if you just suck it up and switch the registration and plates. I only wish when I moved from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts it would have only cost $50 bucks to transfer my registration and plates. I was looking at upwards of $300, not including the $90 for the license. Solved the problem and just got rid of the car!

Yes, you can! Did you really even move to PA?? It is not expensive compared to a lot of other states, and, in addition to getting cited for it not matching, the insurance company does not have to cover a loss if you are not compliant with state law. It will look like insurance fraud and they will look long and hard to find out what is really going on. How will they find out?? Well, Genius, probably from the date you switched your license and purchased the PA insurance. If not from the date you bought the house, rented the house, etc.

Well, for one thing you have a PA driver license. If you get stopped, you will probably get cited.
