You cannot apply for an au pair visa. Only the employers hiring an au pair through an officially approved agency can apply for the visa. Only after that visa is issued can you enter the US. If you have been in the US on a visit visa, you should plan to stay out of the US at least as long as you were in the US. As things stand, it looks like you used a visit visa to hunt for a job, which shows you intended to remain in the US, not just take a short vacation, and therefore violated terms of your visit visa. Visa fraud can get you permanently barred from the US. If you came on a visit visa to job hunt, don't plan on returning - go home and stay there a while, quite a while.
