What grades do i need to get on my GCSEs to get into Cambridge University to study medicine?

  • For my GCSEs I'm taking: - Spanish - French - Triple science - Geography - History - IT what grades do I need to get in GCSE and what do I need to take for A ...show more

  • Answer:

Your GCSE's are nowhere near as important to them as your a levels but if you want to study medicine at Cambridge, or anywhere really, you should be getting a*s. A few a's won't completely tarnish your results but just make sure they're not in science or maths. For a level take at least two sciences, maths and then something like further maths, philosophy and ethics, history, languages, music or preferably another science. For AS you need straight a's with no resits and for a2 youll need either 2 a*s and an a or 1 a* and 2as. On top of that you need a ton of voluntary work and work experience. You will also need to check reading lists for medicine and try and read as much as you can so for interviews you can show off your knowledge and Passion for medicine.Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine

Top universities such as Oxbridge are extremely competitive and they usually require 10 A-A* grades at GCSE. For most medican courses, at least 5 A grades are needed But for Cambridge i imagine it is all A/A* grades, ie As in all subjects (usually 10)
