  • Answer:

For less rocking, you'd want the lowest deck possible in the mid-ship section. For less noise, you want to avoid the very front low deck [anchor noise] and any cabin over/under noisy areas, e.g. the theater, disco, pool deck, casino, bars, etc. You also DO NOT want to be under the galley area, which will be next to the dining rooms.

Take a pencil and balance the center of it on your fingertip. Now grab the eraser end with your other hand and move it up and down like a seesaw. Which part of the pencil moves the least? The part by your finger, right? Midship has the least movement. Now take the point of the pencil and put it on your fingertip, and move the eraser end back And forth with your other hand. Which part of the pencil moves the least? Again, it's the part closest to your finger. Low decks have the least movement. In terms of finding a quiet cabin, look at the plans for the decks above and below the one where you're considering choosing a cabin. The best choices are decks that have cabins above and below them. You want to avoid having a restaurant or nightclub above or below you. The Riviera deck could be a good choice, since it has the Main deck as a buffer between it and the public spaces on the next deck up.

What MomSezNo said - low and midship. Riviera deck would be the quietest, too

Herfnerd

midship on a middle deck say deck 6 to 8

AJ

Midship. But, honestly most people aren't sensitive enough to actually tell a difference - its all in your head.

Your best to try and get a deck right in the middle of the ship, the middle deck and the middle cabin on that deck. You will find if you are at either end of the ship you will feel the movement a lot more.

When I went on my cruise I was on the 5th deck in the middle of the ship. It wasnt rocky at all, and I didn't get sick. I'm not so sure about the riviera and verandah. Carnival ships are for family vacations so it's going to be pretty loud but you can't really hear anything while in the room unless their running around screaming through the halls.

Everywhere is good because you can't hear the noise in your room and the best deck is on top, and on the boat you don't feal it rock at all because its big a weight a lot , and you won't get sick because you can't feel boat move and can't hear the noise.
