Can I take courses outside of my current major?

Can you major in nursing right away as a freshman or do you have to take pre courses?

    Talk to the admissions representative at your school. Ask them what the process is. Some schools allow you to register as an undeclared major and take the nursing pre-requisite and general ed courses and then once you are formally accepted to the nursing major (you go through a separate application process once you are eligible, usually in your Sophomore year) then the records office switches your declared major over to the BSN. Other schools have you register as "pre-nursing". They should guide you through this process.
