  Normally companies organise group interviews so that they do not have to interview say 100 applicants one by one, as it is too time consuming. Group interviews also have advantages such as tells them how applicants perform in a team, speaking in front of an audience etc. Some of the characteristics of retail group interview setting are: 1. You may be asked to talk about yourself, introduce yourself, your hobbies and why are you here today 2. You may be given a simple task, 20 mins to think about it, and then present it to the whole group. Usually you are separated in 3/4 teams of 4/5 people in each team. The idea is, you want to be good at listening to others in team in order to come up with the presentation, put accross your ideas confidently, in a clear tone and be considerate. Please bear in mind that it is not a competition, they want to see how you perform in a team. 3. You might be asked to make a presentation as an individual too. 4. Case studies: certain issue facing the retail store, you need to implement a plan to increase sales or save costs. Again you might need to do that as a presentation and working in team, with a positive attitude is all you need. There is nothing to be nervous about a group interview! Be confident, positive and bear in mind that more approachable and communicative you are on that day, you have a better chance to be put forward to the next stage for 1 to 1 interview session.
