I work in surgery and have seen many spider bites as well as my husband was bitten by a spider on his back this past year. The symptoms you are describing are not good. I recommend that your boyfriend go to the emergency room and have the bite looked at. some bites can attack the system and left untreated he could go into septic shock and that is very bad. Don't take any chances, it is worth the visit even if he has just the flu. Believe me - better safe than sorry.
