What is firmware?

What games (if any) can't you play on a PSP with v. 1.5 firmware (assuming I don't upgrade the firmware)

  • Also, are there any other disadvantages to using this firmware as apposed to the latest firmware that doesn't allow homebrew applications? Cheers -G-

    defiantly you cant play the early PSP games but you can play hoembrew games that are made for FW 1.50. Most of them are probally classic games got to www.psp-hacks.com to check it out

Well, Noobz team just released a downgrader for firmware version 3.50 yesterday (using Lumines). Aside from official sony firmware, Dark_Alex's custom firmwares offer everything that sony firmware offers, but it enables homebrew as well. As of right now, the latest version is 3.40 OE-A. Personally, I prefer this to 1.50

Don't upgrade its a pain in the @#$ to downgrade it, and if you change your mind youll have to wait till they figure out how to downgrad 3.5, which could be days or months, NO MATTER WHAT DON'T UPGRADE!!!!

It depends on which Homebrew emulator you have installed go to psp faq to find out which emulator you have and all the compatible games for that emulator.......
