Which expansion packs should I get for Sims 2?

Should i get sims 2 with all the expansion packs or stay with sims 3 and get generations and pets?

It depends on the features you prefer. The graphics are improved in Sims 3 and they add more features but also take away some that are offered in the Sims 2. I've played both. When I started on Sims3, at first I didn't think it was much better because I missed some features from Sims 2 but I got use to it pretty fast. You really have to play both to see which one you would prefer I guess. Sorry that this wasn't much help.
