What do you think of otakus who act like anime characters in everyday life?

I like anime and manga characters too but there are some people that are taking this too far. I'll give you four examples from what I have observed from my classmate. 1. While ...show more

Answer:
Nothing about 1 or 2 is anime specific. Just because anime characters do something doesn't mean anime invented it. Anime takes from real life too you know. 3 really depends on how often she does it and in what situations. As for 4, is it REALLY because of Naruto? Like, is she actually doing "summoning jutsu" ritual? Just because she has a habit of biting her thumb when she's nervous or what have you doesn't mean she's ever even watched Naruto let alone trying to copy it.

Haha I think thatd be ccute. Shes just more into acting like it than others. Nothing wrong with it. Shes not overdoing it. Just different then most Otaku's. Sometimes I pretend I'm Natsu when Im play fighting wiht my sister or when Im outside alone I like ot make noises that aniem characters make and I put myself in guys or girls perspective.

Maybe u should tell her she's overdoing it nicely and when shes by her herself too avoid embaressment....another option would be just let her be maybe it's her way of having fun

That's not an otaku, that's a weaboo. Some of the things that weaboos do are: saying the random 4 or 5 Japanese words they learned from anime in everyday conversation (kawaii, baka, desu, etc.), dressing or acting like their favorite anime characters when it's not appropriate (basically anytime other than Halloween or an anime con), acting like an anime know-it-all when it reality they know very little beyond the popular stuff (Naruto, One Piece, Fairy Tale, Attack on Titan, etc.), and insisting that Japan is better in every way possible than the rest of the world. Some people start out as weaboos when they first become anime fans. They think they are cool and don't realize how ridiculous they are acting. Anime fans with common sense (otaku if you like to be called that) typically dislike and avoid weaboos because they give the whole fanbase a bad name. Most weaboos sort of grow out of it with time, especially if they end up encountering an actual anime fan who knows way more then they do. Personally, I leave weaboos alone unless they start acting like know-it-alls.

Yes, that's overdoing it. I have some friends who act like this any I wonder if they realize that this is real life, not an anime. I got annoyed with one of my friends because she keeps calling everyone's name with "chan" at the end. -.-
