Nothing, since small children falling over on an ice rink happens several times a minute. Local TV crews? Have you ever actually been skating?

Francis needs to learn much from his adoptive parent, and one of those things he needs to learn is the value of honesty, so he would not be allowed to accept the false kudos. However, since he also needs to learn the value of modesty, and doing good simply for the sake of doing good, the interview is declined altogether, and they go to the local diner to celebrate the saving of a life with steaming mugs of hot cocoa. Francis gets his with whipped cream AND sprinkles on top!

The question of whether I like media attention is irrelevant, since in this scenario I am not the hero. Taking the snowflake away from the attention would lead inevitably to resentment later. Basking in attention might be fun or not, but how will he know if he likes it unless he has a chance to try it?

I think it says more for the character of the child not to suddenly get all the attention. It also puts uneccesary pressure on our "hero" should he goof up in the future. It's tough to live up to the hero image I wouldn't want that for my child.
