Answer:
Tinnitus is just a general name for any noises in the ears how-ever causes,in so many cases the cause is never known. Mine came on in the mid 1980s and its a type where its relieved by silence. Most types are much worse when there isnt a sound. You can only see what your doctor thinks it is. An earing aid might help.

Sounds like tinnitus. I have it. So far they haven't been able to do much for it. The doctor told me that basically the inner ear is still a mystery. However, do go to the doctor as there are different causes for it, from muscular tension to hearing damage. And if you find a cure, email me and share! I go mad sometimes, particularly at night because when you're tired it's louder.

If its a new thing it probably won't be there permanently, if it's really loud and is really bothering you, you should see a doctor. Remember that if it is tinnitus then it isn't curable but there might be something you can do to sooth it and make it quiter and less frequent. It is possibly caused by your lifestyle so ask yourself if you listen to music too loud? Do you use earphones a lot? Do you go to a lot of concerts? Do you play a musical instrument or DJ? Does your work involve loud machinery? Do you dive a lot? All of these thing could play a part in this. It sounds to me like it is tinnitus. But you should see a doctor to confirm that. If in the worst case it is a permanent thing, which I think is probably unlikely. Then all you can really do is keep your stress levels down and change your lifestyle so as not to make it worse.

It shouldn't be tinitus if you're still young. Wait a few days before seeing the doc. Even if it is tinitus there's not much he can do, but I doubt it is? Tinitus mainly affects just one ea,r then at a later date maybe the other.
