How can i get views and comments on my blog?

What's the best way to get a blog views without using social media sites?

  • I would like to have my review blog http://knifeink.wordpress.com get views, but I really don't want to use social media sites like Facebook or Twitter. I'm a fairly shy person and nobody I know personally knows I'm doing this blog, and for now I'd like to keep it that way. Is there any way I can put my blog out there? I don't want to keep up with it if it's just going to be me reading it.

    There was a time before social media sites.  In those ancient days you would comment on other blogs, written by people writing on similar topics.  You also wrote blog posts comment on other blogs.  By joining "the conversation" and helping share good ideas that others have, you also draw some traffic to your blog.  That, plus good unique content, would help grow your audience. Also, giving some attention to (white hat) SEO is important to making your content findable to search.

Rob is right - SEO and blog commenting are great places to start (although blog commenting is still considered social media). You could also guest post and include links back to your site, advertise on search engines, include links to your blogs in email marketing, etc. Good luck!
