While I cannot give input on other schools, there will be free ones possibly offered by your state, and ones that require a tuition, like the school that I work for. I am employed as a teacher/staff for an online high school, CompuHigh/Whitmore School. We offer the ability for students to work towards earning a high school diploma - following either a general studies track or a college prep track - in a mastery-based setting. Students may be able to work as quickly or as slowly as needed on course material depending on the concepts being presented. Our tuition is yearly, and we offer a payment plan for each program we offer. If you would need to tweak the amounts of the payment plan some, we would only ask that you contact us so that we could see what may be done to help you out. http://www.compuhigh.com/diplomaprogam.htm Also, You want to be certain that you do your research and the school that you choose holds proper accreditation and recognition so that you may further your studies should you decide to attend a college or university. You will also want to locate a school that is quite transparent in not only what it offers the students, but also in what goes on with the student and his or her courses. The reason I state this is so that your parents are able to see exactly what work you are doing, and how things are progressing in your courses. I am providing the link to our accreditation page, and you are more than welcome to look through our site to learn more about our program, and gain a better understanding of what things you may look for in your quest. There is also a contact link on our website should you find you have any questions. http://www.compuhigh.com/accreditation.htm As far as course work goes, you do have a teacher in each course that you interact with in a text-based situation. You would read through the lesson and submit the assignment or questions you may have regarding the assignment, and the teacher would then write back responding to you. To learn a bit more about our school, you may also check out our website www.compuhigh.com.
