What are the two forms of assessments in the childcare field?

Level 3 childcare course no idea what the answer is and I cannot find anything about it online A reply ASAP would be greatly appreciated as I am doing my coursework now

You are probably being asked for the following if this is level 3. Child In Need Assessments = Initial & Core Assessments. a) Initial; Parents and Social worker & relevant Professionals (Usually Health if under 5 years) look at issues which affect family. Views of parents and children taken into account. b) Core; Is done when it is believed the family situation requires further investigation and needs more detailed information to seek a correct solution. Involves Social Worker, Health Visitor; School Nurse, Education, Housing and sometimes Police. This assessment has to be completed within 35 days.
