No acting experience, what should I put on my resume?

I need to put together a resume for an audition I have, but I don't have any acting experience, just experience with being on a run crew for shows. Could anyone show me a sample ...show more

Answer:
There's a general form for acting resumes. Your name and contact information (cell phone and e-mail) are at the top. Put this stuff in big bold letters. If you want, you can list your stats like your age, height, weight, hair color, etc. For safety, do NOT put home phone number, home address, and social security numbers on the resume. If you had any experience you would list it under a heading. For an acting resume the headings are usually FILM TELEVISION COMMERCIALS (you don't actually list these unless you have nothing else, but you can say "conflicts available on request") THEATRE And you would list information in a 3-column format. So if you ACTED a play in high school it would be something like THEATER Our Town....................Town Person....................Senior High School Since you don't have any experience you can try to fudge it a bit and list any performance experience you might have had, like: MUSIC AAA Show Choir....................Alto.............. High School Then you would have the heading TRAINING and you would list any classes you've taken related to acting. Then you have the heading SPECIAL SKILLS where you list any special skills you have that could relate to preforming. Like singing (list vocal range if you know it); dancing (list specific type like ballet, jazz, square dancing). You can list accents you do well (British Accent) and any foreign languages you speak (fluent in Spanish, conversational French). List performance skills like juggling, stand-up comedy, magician, clowning. List sports you've played. And get creative - list unusual things you can do like hula hoop, walk on your hands, do the splits, speak pig Latin, whatever you can come up with. There's an example of a beginning resume here: http://www.ace-your-audition.com/acting-resume-samples.html Good luck.

unless you have done some acting work other than extra work, you don't have a resume. having a resume is not a requirement to go on an audition. you bring one if you have one.
