Why do we need JSON, XML parsers now-a-days?
-
What are the necessary things that can/cannot be done with/without JSON/XML parsers? I'm looking for various reasons why I should create/use JSON/XML parser.

Answer:
To read input in JSON/XML (duh!) Are you really asking 'What types of data are only available in JSON/XML?' >I'm looking for various reasons why I should create/use JSON/XML parser. Huh? You should never create a parser for those since there are already tons of very good open-source ones in every language you can name. Whereas you should use the existing parsers if your data comes in those formats. What alternative data format are you considering? Your question's not very clear, it could do with some details. Can you pick a specific example and domain? (social networking? financial data? etc.)
