How do I get a QR code to allow people tolike my Facebook page
-
I'm trying to link my company's facebook page through a scanable QR code. When they scan the code it brings them to the facebook page in their browser. Is there a way to get the phone to open up the facebook (or twitter) app to our page?

I am also trying to get a QR Code to link to a Facebook like page in the native Facebook application if downloaded on a phone. I tried your recommendation above and it seems not to work. I does take me to the application but not to the like page. I am using a iPhone 5 with the latest version of Facebook if this has anything to do with it. Thanks.

(Updating because FB has now apparently made changes to their URL schema: earlier it was 'page' and now 'profile'.) To do exactly what you want (open your Facebook Page/Twitter profile/Foursquare venue in the local App), the url needs to be of the form: fb://profile/YOUR_PAGE_ID example: fb://profile/17981685369248 (Please note that Page ID is numeric and not your FB page name. You can generally find it by replacing the 'www' in the page url with 'graph'. Example: https://graph.facebook.com/QtestInc See my comment below for more details) twitter://user?screen_name=TWITTER_SCREEN_NAME foursquare://venues/VENUE_ID (FourSquare venue id is generally the last string of characters. Eg. for their HQ, the url is https://foursquare.com/v/foursquare-hq/4ab7e57cf964a5205f7b20e3 The VenueID is 4ab7e57cf964a5205f7b20e3 and the QR Code should contain: foursquare://venues/4ab7e57cf964a5205f7b20e3) (See 's answer on how to create such codes) Below is an example with the info. Keep in mind that this approach works only if the person scanning the code already has the FB/Twitter/4Sq App installed.

You can do what you're describing at Scan's QR code generator: http://scan.me/qr-code-generator/ Just create a QR code that goes to a URL, then instead of "http://" use any of these as the URL: fb://profile â Open Facebook app to the userâs profile fb://friends â Open Facebook app to the friends list fb://notifications â Open Facebook app to the notifications list (NOTE: there appears to be a bug with this URL. The Notifications page opens. However, itâs not possible to navigate to anywhere else in the Facebook app) fb://feed â Open Facebook app to the News Feed fb://events â Open Facebook app to the Events page fb://requests â Open Facebook app to the Requests list fb://notes- Open Facebook app to the Notes page fb://albums â - Open Facebook app to Photo Albums list

The simple answer (at least until Facebook make changes!) is to replace http://www.facebook.com/yourpagename with fb://yourpagename Should work fine.

I think http://blitzster.com will do exactly the thing you required in a fly. How it works? You: Using http://blitzster.com > create reward based campaign > download poster or use digital display Customer: Sees the reward to join your social network in display media (poster or digital display) > scan > like or follow > claim reward instantly. You: Get notification of new conversion, analytics and more.

The best way to solve your problem is using a "Facebook Page" QR Code generated with the QR Code Generator https://qrd.by/#facebook The magic thing about those QR Codes is that they automatically check if the Facebook App is installed on the mobile device. If that is the case the Facebook Page is opened directly in the App. If not the page will be viewed in the web browser of the mobile device as a fallback. Scan the following QR Code with a phone where the Facebook App is installed: The URL encoded in this QR Code is http://qr.vc/qrd.by-facebook. The script behind that URL will try to trigger the Facebook App using the URL scheme http://fb://profile/xxxxx. If you call that URL from your Desktop Browser you will see that the fallback routine will apply and you will be just forwarded to the Facebook page.
