Why there is virtually no laminate flooring or particle boards on the market with designs other than imitations of wood and stone?

  • Virtually all of the commercially available laminate flooring or particle boards feature designs that imitate wood or stone. Why there are no other designs available on the market, such as artificial fractals or other patterns, such as the ones typically found on clothing?

  • Answer:

    Because there is no, or little, market for them. Some online stores carry a few though.

I saw a grass effect one once, came with a roll of white tape to mark out lines of a soccer pitch.  It was made by Parador I think or it could have been Haro. I know Parador has a few abstract decors too.  Or at least it did.  I have never installed anything other than wood or tile effect in 15 years of installing. You can see a few of the abstract ones if you search google images  for parador trendtime 4.
