What are things to see and do in Madrid on a weekend?

I am going to Madrid, Paris, Venice, Rome and Athens. Do you have any suggestions of great things to see?

    Well I have a couple of suggestions for you. In Madrid, there is a very famous art museum called The Prado, if you like art. In Paris, I would suggest taking a crypt tour. There are thousands of people's bones stored underground. I didn't get to do it but want to when I go back. I have seen it on the Travel Channel. As for Rome, there is so much to see and do. I would suggest taking a day trip to see Pompei and Mt. Vesuvius. As for Athens, I just went and saw the Parthenon and Acropolis. Don't be out late at night in Athens. I couldn't sleep when I got there and decided to go for a walk at like 3am. There were people out in the squares so I figured it would be safe but I was almost mugged in full view by a druggie.

I do not know where you live and how old you are, but for sure you have a lot of nightlilfe over there! but please, as you said, go to the museums (do not skip any!) you won't regret it!. Take the tour bus in the day (the one that goes around the cities) and you will have a pretty good idea how is the movement. Do not forget to check the designer boutique in Paris and I hope you have chances to go to the opera! hey! I'm not so old and I loved it! Go to La Chueca in Madrid is fun!
