    Legal drinking age on a vessel is the legal age in its country of registration. Since the Carnival Pride flies the Bahamian flag, by law its drinking age is 18, which is Bahamian law. HOWEVER since Carnival is a US cruise line, they have chosen the 21 age - simply their personal choice, not any law. Parental waivers do not work unless you are travelling on a United Nations Laissez Passer - in which case you may drink even if you are two years old.

I went on a Carnival Cruise at 18. I could not drink on board the ship. They are registered in the US and choose to follow this countries legal age. If you're going to Mexico, Jamaica or any other country that has an 18 year drinking limit you can drink once you get to the island.
