  I would begin by approaching the resume as though you are trying to "sell" your skills to the employer. You may even want to go so far as putting your name at the top of the page in large lettering, underlined, even in a different colour if you can - an employer advertising a job will have a stack of resumes to go through, and they will more often than not pick out the one that stands out from the pile. Try to keep it to one page and get it spell checked before you print it off. If you have no prior job experience, try to use phrases like "self-motivated," "enthusiastic," and "proactive." Use life experiences and school experiences to relate to why you are the above. The employer will no doubt appreciate a good story about a school project or a time when you got yourself out of a bad situation. The employer may ask you why you think you are proactive, so prepare answers in advance. For example, if he/she asks what you mean by proactive, you could say in the interview that you do not "react" to problems and panic/despair, etc, rather you approach problems with a positive attitude and see them as challenges.
