Misdemeanor on Job Application?

SO DO I!!! WOW! I have almost the same record as you do. Naw, they don't care about those. I NEVER list them. EVER. I got hired for a state job three times w/ that record. They are looking for felons that rob banks and hurt children or violent crimes. What I did is go to the police dept. and ask for a records check on myself just to see what it says. It came up blank, oddly. I even went on to become a gestational surrogate (they look into EVERYTHING) and was accepted into one, but another wouldn't let me participate due to a "deferred adjuct." in which I paid restitution. Long story, short temper. I checked online and my criminal past shows NOTHING. So, I'm okay with saying no record. Just say, "Was at a party and several people were cited for public intox." and for the criminal mischief, say simply, "Left a note on a car because someone parked too close, I could not open my car door. Left my contact information as a courtesy and they pressed charges." Seriously.

Most of those suits in that office probably have the same charges on their record if they were young once and went to college. If they do not give you a job because of something you did a few years ago then you shouldn't be working for them anyways. Trust me, I would stay out of the office if I were you. Find a small firm where you can use your skills (extremely valuable) and have a little more freedom in the process.
