Most likely not, because you are not required to have MSN to work as a floor nurse. You can and will get more if you run a department / unit, however, that comes with a headache as you can imagine. If you are an NP, then you would make much more than a floor nurse. I do know an NP who misses floor nursing and she works once or twice a month (besides full time in a clinic) on the weekend for "fun" (I know, that's what she told me.)
