What is the difference between a bachelors degree and an associates degree in nursing?

    The core skill set for both degrees are the same as both have to pass the NCLEX and both function as RNs. The bachelors degree (the 4 year) requires obviously the gen ed requirements for a bachelors degree as well as teaches more nursing administrative skills, theories, etc. So most management positions (outside of charge nurse) require the bachelors. However, if you plan on minimal forays (at least to start) into management & possibly specialty nursing, the two year AA is perfectly adequate and gets you out there a bit sooner & for FAR less cost. However, yes, you need to attend a community college school of nursing for the ADN, not a 4 year college.

bachelors degree is a 4 year degree and allows you to advance faster in your career and associates is a 2 year degree. i would go for the bachelor degree. i recieved my associates and you would die if you heard the offers i've been getting!
