I wouldn't worry about getting an Associate's degree at all. Typically, yes you can save money by going to a community college the first year or two ; however, a lot of people end up paying for classes twice because they don't transfer or take additional classes for the Associate's degree that they don't need. I would recommend that you try to get into an RN/BSN program as soon as possible. DIfferent schools have different entrance requirements and some may require you to do 'pre-nursing' classes before they will let you into the RN/BSN program. Then, you need to decide if you want an MSN or a NP degree for your masters. You may need to work a year or two in the field before you can be accepted to the program.
