What is a good field to major in science?

  Look at it this way Facebook was created on the fly while being in stamford U but Mark never completed his ed so the old saying of Actions speak louder then words can be true. But in life some companies will not take you without those pieces of paper about a subject that is not being practices anymore or very rarely. It's all status quota rules not real world rule. The internet is a moving living breathing thing and changes daily without direct contact with it in a hands on approach you will be a loser. My recommendation is do the min to get the paper but focus on all the changing things going on and learn what interests you the most and Just do it. Peace
