Some companies will hire you without a degree in HR. I used to work in a place where the HR director did not have a degree in HR. I think that it is more important that the HR director understands the functions of the place in which s/he works. For example, the HR director for a hospital should have experience in as a health care worker. The HR director for a school district should have experience as a teacher.

What do you learn in your Anthropology courses that relates to HR? I don't think there is anything. Without any formal HR training, you are eligible for the exact same job in HR that you were immediately out of high school = an HR clerk that will hopefully, work into an HR Specialist position.
