Why do YouTube videos make a pit stop at three hundred and one view counts?
-
It seems like the accuracy of view counts on the first day is just flat out incorrect. Why is this?
-
Answer:
Views are counted in real time until they get to 300. If a vides gets to 300 views quickly, then de-spamming algorithms kick-in. The de-spamming processes make sure that the views a video receives are legitimate - i.e. they're not being inflated artificially by spammers and automated processes. The viewcount can get temporarily stuck at 300 while the de-spamming process gets queued up and waits it's turn to run.
