Well, first, you should never get one ferret. Always get two because they are very social. 2nd, are you prepared to pay about 300$ / year for the vaccinations they need? 3rd, are you ready to pay for vet bills when it gets sick? The vet bills can cost between 500 - 3000 dollars. Almost every ferret gets sick at the age of 2 and more. I dont think your ready.

I always wanted a ferret too until I got one and they smell horrible...yeh they take their stink gland thingys out but they still have a horrible odor..now we have 3 shih tzus and a chinchilla..have u checked into gettin a chinchilla...they are awesome...they dont stink at all, dont need baths, have a high energy level like ferrets, and don't bite like ferrets...i know this wasnt what you were wanting to here but just giving ya a little bit of my experience...I'm a huge animal lover too!

Honestly...you wouldn't be able to function very well with three pets AND a ferret. They're far more high maintenance than dogs and cats...maybe even the two combined. I'd wait a few years if I were you. In the mean time, do a lot of research about them. :)
