You have to install an add-on called "Hide unvisited". It will hide any sites you haven't visited since you last cleared your history. Hope this helps.

I had a similar problem with mine recently. My URL/address bar disappeared all together. I was told to hit the F11 key. It took a while of messing with it but it finally came back like it had never been gone. I was without it for at least one week. Without it; you can't do much of anything. Good luck.
