How can i get better at snowboarding in the offseason?

Right now its fall and snowboarding season is coming up but i want to get a head start. Is there some kind of stuff i can do to get better?

There are a couple of things I have invested in for the summer months.. - A Carveboard. They're designed by a professional surfer (Brad Gerlach). It's a sweet skateboard that helps you keep the same muscles you use to carve on a board in pow or surfing. It keeps you conditioned, and it's really fun. - Go skate at skate parks on simply in the street. Skateboarding boosts your confidence, and helps you find your natural balance. I do a little downhill skating here and there as well, just grab a long board and hit up www.LongBoardMaps.com to find some local spots. - Surf. If you're near a beach that breaks. Surfing is the hardest of skating and snowboarding (in my opinion). It keeps your entire body in shape. You also really expand your lungs over time. - Get an Indo Board Balance trainer. You can also make one at home with a three liter, fill it with resin and let it harden, cover it in a few layers on duct tape to get a little bit of grip. Then, take the trucks and wheels off of your skateboard and simply hop on and balance! - Go hike out in the hills to find spots to hit up fresh pow tracks in the back country. You can show all of your friends some new spots. Hiking is a great way to stay in shape and open your mind to snowboarding! Happy shredding!

Definitely cross train on a skateboard! I greatly improved my snowboarding by doing this. Think of all the tricks you know, or would like to do, on a snowboard, and practice them on a skateboard (riding switch, 360 degree turns, etc). Whatever you do on a skateboard, you'll do ten times better on a snowboard - guaranteed!

Skateboard and wakeboard. If neither is your glass of vodka, concentrate on leg exercises and researching tips from pros. Running, squats, and endurance exercises such as "chair" (legs bent at 90 degrees, back against the wall, hold until it burns) are all helpful. Also consider balance exercises. Check out Men's Health website and magazines - a lot of the exercises there may be helpful. Read up on the tips from pros so that you can analyze what you were doing wrong last season and can start correcting your mistakes at the very beginning of the new one. Best of luck.
