Well, I roller skate to practice my ice skating moves. It will feel a lot different then ice skating but this will definitely help stand up and be able to move! It is different though, so don't rely on that to help make you totally better! But you will do better then if you never roller skated(: Good luck!

no ice skating is completely different

I'd say that the two things are pretty different. I am a figure skater. I can just go forwards on roller blades. I personally like figure skating better, because there is less friction on the ice, and I feel free. Well, I hope I helped. Good luck skating, and have fun!

It's really similar. You should do fine if you've roller skated before. The place might ask you if you want hockey skates of figure skates and the difference is that hockey skates don't have toe picks which help you stop and figure skates do. What ever your personal preference is.

it's not the same because roller skating involves 4 wheels at the bottom where ice skating is one blade at the bottom and is preferred to skate on ice and not hard wood floors and it feels very different.

no- roller skating is with roller blades (skates with weels which can't be used on ice.) and ice skating is with boots with a blade at the bottom which you use to skate on ice....

It's close to roller blading (in-line skates) but not quite the same. If you can roller skate, then I'm sure you can pick up ice skating pretty quick. Might want to be sure to wear jeans and perhaps have a light jacket available - could be pretty cold when skating.

You do use the same movement as using roller blades, but the ice is a lot grippier and sometimes, unlike rollerblading, the ice will lock and you will find yourself tripping. If it is your first ice skate tomorrow, do what I did. I went with three of my best friends who are pros at skating. For two laps, I held onto the side bars and pushed myself along. Then after two laps, I held onto two people (one on each side) and went close to the side bars. (do this until you feel comfortable with the movement) After you feel comfortable, you can lean onto one person and go closer to the middle. You'll be skating by yourself in no time at all Hope this helps.
