What are the cheapest DECENT aggressive skates you can buy?

Where can I buy decent NEW ladies' figure skates in wide?

  • I have skated before but not in YEARS, and took lessons as a child. I want to take adult beginner lessons again. Where can I get a decent pair of ladies' figure skates ...show more

  • Answer:

First, never, EVER buy "figure skates" from a sporting goods store, unless you want a trip to the hospital. Riedell and Jackson both make beginner boot and blade packages from around $100. The investment in your skates is better than a trip to the hospital. If you have wide feet, it would be a good idea to find your nearest pro shop and get fitted, as figure skates come in multiple widths and "wide" wouldn't really mean anything.

Other answers

If there's a skating store in your city, they would definitely have some. The other place is a sporting goods store like Scheels or Sports Authority, they might have cheaper ones.
