Has anyone here experienced an earthquake?

Can an impending earthquake trigger migraine headaches in some people?

  • My wife always has a migraine 24-48 hours prior to an earthquake. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

  • Answer:

YES! Without a doubt. On Wed. my head started hurting. That evening I asked somebody about the fault line in the midwest - because I had this nagging feeling that an earthquake was about to happen. The feeling intensified last night, along with my headache. The first thing I heard on the news this morning was the earthquake in Missouri/Illinois. My headache is gone now. No, I don't think it is a coincidence because it has happened to me before.

I tend to get them before a storm hits so I assume it's possible.

I'd believe this is possible... The pressures and electromagnetic field could mess with us carbon based lifeforms! LOL.

Im just speculating here, but i studied the physics and effects of earthquakes for my PhD. There may be a better medical explanation and i'm sure you will get other answers. But, it could be possible that the earthquake could slight change the elevation of your location, hence bringing on a new altitude, and the sudden change of altitude results in a headache. Sort of how like some people get bad headaches when they are in a plane and when it reaches the air. Sudden change of altitutde effects some people. Hope that helps =]

more or less, YES,.. why? cause it stimulates the nerves in your brain,.. or maybe, it's just stress result of your worrying...

It is possible I guess if before the earthquake there were changes in air pressure, I know I get migranes before a major storm will hit.

Well, i have never had migraines, and neither has my family nor friends family. i live in southern california, and we havent had an earthquake in a while, but ive never seen anything that causes that. maybe its like her senses or she has a sensitive nerve structure in the head??? idk
